Dynamic Walking 2009 will be held at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, from June 8 to 11. Like its four predecessors, the aim of this meeting is to provide insight into the fundamental principles that underlie legged locomotion. Participants are split roughly equally between students and professors and between those who are interested in a better understanding of human walking, those who are interested in building better walking robots, and those who are interested in both.
The meetings are organized to provide as much interaction between participants as possible. This is done with a highly informal and fluid format, to promote open sharing of information. There are no parallel sessions and a lot of time is scheduled for interaction, brainstorming and idea sharing. Each day includes a highly informative and enjoyable tutorial including tutorials on techniques in simulating dynamic walking and the construction and testing of dynamic walking robots.
The deadline for abstract submission will be announced in January, 2009.
