Author Guidelines

All attendees are strongly encouraged to submit an abstract for presentation in an oral or poster format. A registration spot cannot be guaranteed for non-presenting authors.

The vast majority of abstracts should present new, cutting edge research that has not been previously published, or has just been published, in a conference or journal format. In addition, the conference encourages the submission of "non-traditional" abstracts including blue-sky concepts, retrospectives, controversial statements, or other formats that may be of interest to the community.

Hardware demonstrations, either associated with an abstract or independent, will be solicited at a later date.

Submissions should be in the form of a one page extended abstract. Abstracts should follow the IEEE conference format. We encourage you to include a single figure as part of the abstract page.

The abstract must be submitted as a PDF and can be no more than one page, including citations, figures, etc, with no supplemental material.

Note that the submission deadline is at midnight of February 24, 2020.

Travel Grants

We anticipate the availability of as small number of travel grants to support attendance at Dynamic Walking. The primary goal of these grants is to broaden participation in the conference, both in terms of the diversity of the attendees and in terms of the ongoing formal and informal discourse. To this end, we are soliciting applications for travel grants to the conference, with an emphasis on increasing participation from groups historically underrepresented in science and engineering (e.g. underrepresented minorities, women, and persons with disabilities) as well as researchers who have not previously had the opportunity to attend.

Students, postdoctoral researchers, and junior faculty are encouraged to apply. Note that due to funding restrictions, awards are currently restricted to US-based researchers. Specific details on the number and value of awards will be announced soon, but we hope to cover the full cost of attendence.

Applications are due at the same time as conference abstract submissions and will be reviewed by a committee. To apply, submit both the standard abstract submission and the travel grant application.

Note that the application form requries the use of a Google account. If, for any reason, you cannot or do not wish to use this form, please contact the organizers.
